2011 Hyundai Sonata Worth The Wait
The Hyundai Sonata has always been a solid contender in the family sedan segment. However, adjustments and tweaks for the 2011 Sonata prove that Hyundai can definitely take on the likes of other Ft. Myers new cars such as a Honda or Toyota. Your Fort Myers new car dealer is thrilled with the updates and knows that their customers will be as well!
The 2011 Hyundai Sonata is looking at sharp as ever. Its distinct design is characterized by heavily sculpted sides and a bold grille, while its paint job – a 14-step roto dip system – makes the Sonata shine unlike any other vehicle on the road.
The sedan is powered by a 2.4-liter inline 4. This engine produces 198 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque and gets great gas mileage. For a manual, the car can get 24/35 miles per gallon city/highway and 28 miles per gallon combined. On an automatic, the car gets 22/35/26 miles per gallon city/highway/combined. All very impressive!
How does the car earn such great gas mileage while still producing so much horsepower? One of the ways is by being the first vehicle in its class with standard Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) technology. Most engines inefficiently take in fuel, but with the GDI, fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber providing a more precise amount of fuel into each cylinder.
The 2.4-L inline will soon be joined by other notable powertrain options. The Sonata 2.0T will house a 274 horsepower producing turbocharged four-cylinder. There will also be a hybrid option that earns 39 miles per gallon on the highway.
When it comes to safety, Hyundai knows what they’re doing. The Sonata was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety after it aced both frontal offset and side-impact crash tests, scored top marks in the new rear impact test, and did well on the new roof crush test. Some of the safety features of the Sonata include antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, front seat side-impact airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.
All of this is available starting at a surprisingly low price of $19,195 – that’s thousands of dollars lower than the competitors! It’s no wonder that Road and Track named the 2011 Sonata one of the Best Cars for the Money. To learn more about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, visit your favorite Fort Myers new car dealer today!
